Here are the answers to excercise on the Scriptural Foundation of the Apostles' Creed:
I believe in God (Hebrews 11:1) the Father (Isaiah 64:8) Almighty (Isaiah 13:6), Maker of heaven and earth (Genesis 1:1).
And in Jesus (Luke 1:31) Christ (Matthew 16:16) His only Son (John 1:14), our Lord (John 20:28); who was conceived by the Holy Ghost (Matthew 1:20), born (Luke 2:7) of the Virgin (Matthew 1:23) Mary (Luke 1:27); suffered under Pontius Pilate (Matthew 27:27-31) was crucified (Matthew 27:35), dead (Matthew 27:50), and buried (Matthew 27:59-60); He descended into hell (1 Peter 3:19); the third day He rose again from the dead (John 20:1-16); He ascended into heaven (Acts 1:9), and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty (Mark 16:19); from thence He shall come to judge (2 Corinthians 5:10) the quick and the dead (2 Timothy 4:1).
I believe in the Holy Ghost (2 Peter 1:21); the holy Christian church (Ephesians 5:27), the communion of saints (1 Corinthians 1:2); the forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14); the resurrection of the body (Romans 6:5); and the life everlasting (1 John 5:11).
Of course there are many more passages in addition to these which could be listed as evidence of the Scriptural foundation for the Apostles' Creed. Think of other passages that could also be used and add them to the list above!
